Ptosis Correction
Lifts a droopy lid
Overview
Ptosis correction strengthens or shortens the muscle that lifts the upper eyelid, so drooping lids open more fully. It is often done together with double eyelid surgery.
Methods & types
- Levator muscle adjustment (incisional)
- Non-incisional ptosis correction in select mild cases
- Combined with double eyelid design
Who it’s for
- Sleepy- or tired-looking eyes from a low lid margin
- Difficulty fully opening the eyes
- Asymmetric eye opening
Recovery
- Swelling and bruising for 1–2 weeks
- Suture removal around 5–7 days
- Fine-tuning of symmetry judged over months
Approximate cost
USD 2,000–4,000
Ranges are rough estimates and vary widely by clinic, technique and individual case. Always confirm the exact price at consultation.
Considerations
- Precise correction is technically demanding — surgeon experience matters
- Slight asymmetry may need minor revision
Common questions
Is ptosis surgery functional or cosmetic?
It can be both — it improves eye opening and appearance. Severity is assessed in person.
